Lucia Scharbatke

As a documentary filmmaker we are modern storytellers although our story is not based on a fixed screenplay, but on real life. We do have the privilege but also the task to let our audience know who our protagonists on the screen are and what their story is.

But how do we tell their story? Are we „the fly on the wall” and or do we take an active part in the film to get behind the story? Do we answer all the questions or will there be some unanswered?

In this workshop we want to explore these ways of storytelling, the possibilities and also limits of dramaturgy and we will be crossing the borderland between documentary and fiction.

Due to the limited number of possible participants anyone who is interested may send their application including the following documents until 01.10.2016 to Ms Dang Thu Ha:

–      Personal information (studies, work, experiments in the film field)

–      Motivational letter

–      A link directing to your most recently shot film

–      Treatment of your newest film project
